This event gives both novice gardeners and more

serious green thumbs a chance

to exchange plant hints and advice.

Bring in a perennial from your garden and

swap it for one of our blooming beauties!

In addition to the plant exchange,

the Emporium will offer both

perennials and annuals for sale.

The Easter Egg Hunt was great fun!

A little chilly...there was ice on the pond.

But that didn't stop the egg hunters!

They searched everywhere.

The younger ones had a little help from mom & dad.

Once all the eggs were collected, the children turned them in for a bag of treats! The eggs with faces on them got special treats.

Everyone left with treats & a big smile!

I think the Easter Egg Hunt is one of the best activities we have at

the L.W.Emporium!

The L.W.Emporium is hosting a fine art &

photography show featuring

artists from the L.W.Emporium

in conjunction with the

Wayne County Central Schools Art Department &

Mr. Beau Watson's Photography classes.

The L.W.E. artist's work is displayed

in the main foyer.

The student artist's work is displayed

on aisle posts

throughout the main floor of the building.

The show opens on Sunday, February 14th &

runs through Sunday, February 28th

during regular business hours,

10 am - 5 pm.

A reception was held on Friday, February 19th

from 4-6 pm.

The Public is welcome to attend.

Our 1st Pet Fair was a huge success and looks like a natural to be held again next year! We had ponies, a miniature horse, a beautiful Arabian mare, some precious little yellow ducklings, a fun clown and of course, DOGS! The greyhounds were a huge hit with everyone and even the little white rats found admirers in the crowd! The Buffalo Pugs and Small Breed Rescue Organization found a home for one of their foundlings during the event! Yea!

The Emporium has acquired two new vendors as a result of the fair and we want to welcome Suz Colombo and her wonderful photography and Kellye Egan with her very clever dog and cat accessories. The bake sale ...OMG...the wonderful goodies that filled 4 large tables and raised money for the Cracker Box Palace were, without a doubt, the most irresistible and highly caloric treats of all...there went my good intentions and diet! Browse among the pictures and enjoy the sense of fun that we had. If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next!

Frequent Shoppers Reward Program

Starting on Monday, June 1st through September 30th, 2009 the L.W.Emporium will be holding our annual Frequent Shoppers Reward Program. It works like this: come in to the L.W.Emporium anytime between June 1st & Sept. 30th; fill out a card at the welcome desk with your name, address, phone number & email, if you have one; then every time you make a purchase, your card will receive a stamp...1 stamp for every $10 you spend. Once you earn 10 stamps, you will receive a $10 gift certificate. But that's not all! There is no limit to the number of stamps or gift certificates you can accumulate. And if you bring a friend with you who fills out a card, you will get an extra stamp...and if you bring in your postcard (if you are on the mailing list) you will get another extra stamp. If you are not on the mailing list, just mention that you saw it on the blog.

The L.W.Emporium has run this program for the last several years & it's been a smashing success. So come on in & fill out a card. It's a great way to get some lovely things for free. These days 'free' sounds especially good. All gift certificates must be redeemed by Nov. 1, 2009.

Perennial Plant Exchange

The Annual Perennial Plant Exchange happens this Saturday & Sunday, May 16-17, 2009 at the L.W.Emporium. Would you like to freshen up your garden with some new perennials...for FREE? Well, just pot up some of your extras & bring them along to the L.W.Emporium this Saturday & Sunday. Bring one variety/take one variety...bring two different varieties/take two different varieties...etc. There is no limit as to the number of perennials you bring in to exchange. We only ask that you not bring in 10 pots of one variety (ie: lily of the valley, ivy,etc.) expecting to take home 10 pots of different plants.

for 2009! Everyone who participated received a bag of Easter candy,

but some of the children won extra special prizes. Here are 2 of the

little souls who braved the cold. It was one frosty, windy day.

Even the parents won something. They got to choose an egg from the

As you approach the entrance to the L.W. Emporium you will cross over a shallow pond on our covered wooden bridge. Take a moment to look for the goldfish in the water below & if you are lucky you may even spot our resident bullfrog.
